PROJECT SCOPE

Rustic Cup approached EDD to transform their back yard into a covered external storage area where they could receipt of deliveries and store materials. The works involved installing a new concrete floor, alterations to existing drainage and the installation of a rubber roof. We always installed a non-slip vinyl floor covering. The works had to be carried out whilst the cafe remained open, so we managed any noisy works and deliveries outside of peak operational hours.

The client was so happy with the works carried out, EDD have now been instructed to refurbish the internal area of the cafe in June 2025.

The works included the following aspects:

Re-route waste from 1st floor sink above the new roof level (black pipe)
Remove existing manhole & frame within newly formed storage area and install new sealed manhole cover and frame and make good surface on completion
Supply and fit new floor joists to form new floor.
Supply and fit new 18mm weyrock floor boards
Supply & install new timber posts on top of low level blockwork to take new roof structure
Supply and install new wall plate ahead of new roof structure
Supply and fit new external door & frame to newly formed storage area. (Decoration not included at this stage, please let us know if you would like a quotation)
Supply and fit new interlocking OSB boards to new roof
Supply and fit new felt roof covering with Liquid DPM overlay to new roof to seal around roof penetrations
Supply and gutter and downpipe to new roof to take rainwater
Supply & Install new floor gully
Clad newly formed front wall with cedral weatherboards
Supply and fit boxing to existing soil pipes
Supply and fit safety flooring to new area

We recently had an external storage unit built in our backyard by EDD, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. The structure is a decent size, fully waterproof, and built to a high standard. From start to finish, Ryan and Steward were professional, efficient, and respectful of our time and space. One thing we really appreciated was how they managed to fit us into their schedule and carry out the noisier work during off-peak hours. This meant we didn’t need to close business or rearrange anything on our end, which made the whole process so much easier.
